US Ready to Prosecute Garads Fueling LA War

In the end, Somaliland would be successful when its stand and positions are clearly and openly articulated while also going the extra miles to make a gesture that will promote peace and stability.

The outgoing US ambassador to Somalia, Larry André, gave an interview to the Somali BBC and said that the individuals involved in fueling the conflict in Las Anod will be dealt with if they continue their actions.

Violence continues in and around Las Anod [Laascaanood], the capital of Somaliland’s Sool region. While clan tensions in the region are nothing new, the current outbreak of violence was not spontaneous. Evidence suggests that both Somali irredentists and China, upset with Somaliland’s turn toward Taiwan, conspired to set local tension alight.
