Chief of Somaliland Fire & Rescue Brigade Received Heads of EUCAP

At the Fire Brigade’s headquarters in Hargeisa, Brigadier General Ahmed Mohamed Hassan, the head of the fire and rescue department in Somaliland, met with the heads and senior staff of EUCAP, including Jose Maria, the acting head of the EUCAP office there, Marco Witt, a coast guard adviser, Lars Ekfeldt, and Mahad Ahmed, the liaison for EUCAP in Somaliland.

The development, equipping, and training of the Somaliland National Fire Brigade were among the topics that were covered in the conference and which both parties had agreed to and planned beforehand to analyze.

The discussion came to a consensus-based conclusion, and the representatives of the two teams jointly visited the various Fire and Rescue sections in the department.

EUCAP is an agency that receives funding from the EU and has a primary mission to work in the Horn of Africa to help the development of police and marine security capability.
