Somaliland: 2023 Pharo Sheikh Secondary School Graduation

Class of 2023 from Pharo Secondary Sheikh, graduated on 3 July. – 61 students of 11 girls and 50 boys. The graduation ceremony was attended by notable individuals from the regional and local government and Pharo Foundation Somaliland senior management.

Pharo Secondary Sheikh is a highly regarded school in Somaliland, known for its exceptional academic standards, values, and ethics. Many of the country’s most successful individuals have completed their education at this prestigious institution. It is instrumental in nurturing the country’s brightest minds. Our graduates have attended various universities abroad including Canada, Cyprus, Malaysia, and Turkey, with the support of Pharo Scholarships in cases of exceptional achievement.

Beyond Sheikh, the overall education program of Pharo Foundation is committed to offering an outstanding education to its students. The Foundation operates multiple educational projects in Somaliland, such as the Early Childhood Development (ECD) program, Pharo KG, Pharo Primary and Pharo Secondary, and Pharo Vocational Training. The program focuses on developing the abilities of young individuals and enabling them to become productive members of their society.

This academic year, the education department extended the ECD program to 3 centers in Berbera from its original focus on 15 Hargeisa-based centers. Furthermore, it constructed an examination center in Sheikh that enabled a large number of students to take international Edexcel Pearson exams, providing them with opportunities to pursue higher education abroad. It is important to note that this examination center is the only certified one in the region, attracting students from Somaliland and Somalia.
