SLPA’s Forum in Atlanta: The Greatest Showcase on Somaliland Ever

SLPA’s Forum in Atlanta: The Greatest Showcase on Somaliland Ever

Dear SLPA community,

I send greetings to you and to all members of the Somaliland Professionals Association ( SLPA) and hope that you have all had time to recover from the preparations and implementation of the best organised conference ever executed by Somalilanders.

This is the kind of event that tells the world about who Somalilanders are.

As you well know, Somalia has mobilised teams that have been assigned nothing else but to spread misinformation about Somaliland.

If we don’t take action to counteract their misinformation, the world will never know about who we really are and how we have, and still are being mistreated by Somalia.

As discussed during the intensive four days I spent with you in Atlanta, Georgia (May 24 to 27, 2024) your generation of educated elite Somalilanders is rightly placed to counteract Somalia’s misinformation about us.

You are educated and eloquent. You are spread around the world and speak many languages. You have access to international media and politicians, and your generation is the first that can pave the way for the youth and the generation after you to also follow in your footstep because the survival of our identity depends on it.

You may also need to know that I shared my admiration for the SLPA with His Excellency President Muse Bihi, who has delegated me to send you his congratulations and best wishes.

H.E. Somaliland president also wishes you to know that you have his full support for your initiative.

Please feel free to communicate with him as you deem necessary. I would be happy to support you in this regard if you so wish, and I will be sharing this message with him, too.

With sincere best wishes from me on behalf of all Somalilanders.

Salaams.
