Kat Imports Banned in Somaliland for Month to Contain Covid-19
Effective from today, 26th April 2020, Somaliland banned the supply and use of Kat until Tuesday 20th May 2020, two days before the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Local government authorities and the national forces are required to seize and burn all imported Kat. They are also ordered to confiscate vehicles transporting Kat and bring anyone caught while bringing illegally Kat into the country before the courts.
