Holding Somaliland parliamentary and municipality elections before the end of 2020 puts the voice and choice of Somaliland people in the decisions making seats and is the ultimate goal of Somaliland people. It has been over due for a long time now and adversely scared the process of democratization in Somaliland.
This is the only way, a new fresh blood is injected into the circulatory system of Somaliland government that would sustain the great progress and development processes in place for the betterment of Somaliland national
One hand, retaining the new members of Somaliland National Electoral Commission (NEC) displays the respect for our constitutional institutions and is right move for reconciliation when our system collide each other from time to time.
On the other hand, entrusting the management and administration of only upcoming elections in 2020 with the former experienced members of Somaliland National Electoral Commission, after adding three international members as a security and confidence building layer, is a great step forward and the end of the useless impasse on this issue.
