The organization is a non-profit entity with a registration No. 849000-7849 and has a close collaboration with Human Bridge – a Swedish charity organization.

Human Bridge is a professional organization specialized in the supply of charitable medical equipment. Through its contact with Swedish hospitals and biomedical establishments Human Bridge is able to channel substantial quantities of used but well-functioning equipment to countries around the world. Its work consists of collecting, repairing and distributing medical supplies and disability equipment mainly to countries in Africa and Eastern Europe

Since 2011 Human Bridge has been registered as an NGO in Ethiopia, with offices and representation in Addis Ababa.

Somaliland Aid Group’s first aid to Somaliland was sent to the University of Hargeisa at the time of its opening. In recent times, the SAG organization has focused on healthcare needs in Somaliland and has made the provision of medical equipment and devices to Somaliland hospitals a priority.

In 2019, Somaliland Aid Group fully equipped Erigavo Hospital with beds and other basic medical devices and supplies for inpatient care. The equipment and medical devices that reached this hospital are all shown in the list below.

Other aids provided by SAG since its inception has reached the hospitals and clinics in Hargeisa, Berbera, Wajale, Gebiley, Garbadadar, Alaybaday, Mandera, Burao, Buhoodle, and Las Anod.

The task of the Human Bridge is to collect and warehouse medical equipment that are surplus or no longer needed due to replacement from hospitals, medical device manufacturers or distributors in Sweden.

Somaliland Aid Group currently is in the process of equipping Birjeeh Hospital. This week they paid for the transport of the first container of medical equipment destined to Birjeeh hospital , which is due to arrive in Somaliland in November this year.

The cost of sending the medical equipment was borne by the Somaliland Aid Group, which always collects monetary donations from its members around the world through a WhatsApp group to fund its endeavors. These activities are mainly “Help-yourself’ efforts aimed to improve health care provisions in all Somaliland regions.

Somaliland Aid Group has recently forged a closing working relationship with Amoud Foundation and SAHA (Somaliland American Health Association) – an association of Somaliland native health professionals living in North America – in respect of helping the Somaliland hospitals.

The last two containers of medical supplies arranged by SAG in collaboration with the Amoud Foundation went to Somaliland in June this year and delivered to Odweyne and the Awdal region.
